With every other project pushed aside for the moment, I am deep into writing the sixth installment of my best-selling series, Far From Home. The crew of the Defiant are about to face their toughest challenge yet. And some will not survive the battle to come…
And this is where you come in. If you’re a fan of Far From Home, let me know in the comments below. I want to know what you like about the series, and any suggestions or requests you have regarding storylines or characters. Leaving a comment enters you into the competition to be a character.
I will choose randomly from those who comment to become characters in book 6. I’ll give you all until this Friday to leave a comment. I will then notify who got through right here, in the comments.
There it is. Your chance to be a character in the latest book. But hurry, the clock is ticking…
I enjoy the series however each book seems to be getting shorter and shorter.
Janet,
#5 did run shorter than the others. However #6 will be longer than any of the previous entries, simply due to the nature of the story.
I don’t want to give anything away, but I will say readers will find #6 ‘intense.’
What’s your full name, Janet? I’ll write you in as a character in #6.
Tony.
I found your series on the amazon kindle site and I’m really enjoying them.
The captain suffering from MS is a twist the likes of which I’ve not seen in a novel before.
Unfortunately, I finished number 5, 30 minutes into my lunch break, and number 6 was not to be found!
I can only cross my fingers that it’ll turn up soon! Good work!
Greg,
I’m writing #6 right now. As I told Janet, it’s going to be ‘intense’ for readers of the series.
By commenting on this post you’ve entered the competition to be a character in #6. Which area of the ship would you like to work in?

For less than a £1 per book, I get what I expect, more than a comic, less than a real book. Small chunks mean you can adapt to comments as you write, which I think works well. I do however think perhaps 50% bigger and no less for future work would mean that we “get off” on the story and dont feel short changed until you do the next one….
So, brilliant stories, brillant characters, I will keep coming back for more,l but I need a bigger fix each time…..
Roland Beaumont.
Thanks Roland. All I can say is “Watch this space…”

Far From Home was recommended to me by Amazon, and as Far From Home 1 was free, I decided to have a read – and I’ve been hooked ever since! I’m the kind of reader who doesn’t like stopping mid-chapter, so I really appreciate the short, sharp chapters. I’m very intrigued to see how Jessica copes with her condition. I’m also very intrigued to find out more about those black pyramids. Who put them there? Why? When? For what reason? I’m also intrigued to see if the gang will manage to find a way home. Finally, are there other Draxx stuck in the wormhole? What are they up to? What happened to Carn? He’s out there… somewhere…
Thanks Gary. Really glad you’re into it. The pyramids are quite important to the series, but that’s all I can say really.
