Okay. Below you’ll find the list of books I read this year. But first I want to give you my top 10, in no particular order, along with the very best and the very worst.
If you’re an author, and would like me to read your book this coming year, hit me up. For indies I ALWAYS leave a review on Amazon and wherever else you want it. That’s a guarantee.
On the right of the screen you’ll see my reading list, so far, for this year. I’m doing a re-read of the Narnia books and a couple of Stephen Kings. I’ll also be going through Meg Gardiner’s books, purely because I’ve missed a few, and it’s been a while. So I’ll start off with China Lake and go from there.
At some point I’ll hit a few Michael Chabon, too, before going onto his new one: Telegraph Avenue. There’s a few Chabon I’ve not read yet.
Okay.

THE VERY BEST BOOK I READ IN 2012
Superbia by Bernard Schaffer
This book was a revelation to me. I thought “this is how you write a novel.” It changed my own approach to writing forever, and added to that the story of Superbia was hard-hitting, truthful, bad mouthed…and ultimately heartbreaking. Most of all it was human, and that’s what struck me the most. Schaffer wrote this from personal experience, and it shows. Should top any list of 2012.
THE WORST BOOK I READ IN 2012
Metal Gear Solid (Novelisation) by Raymond Benson
Ugh. Not what I expected. Benson’s writing is fine…it’s just that he take a fantastic game (and storyline) and his efforts to dramatize it just fall flat. I quit halfway through. It was just a waste of time.
